The Sunday roast dinner on 14th February is selling out fast and we have limited places available, so if you have not already done so please book now to avoid disapointment. Again there is a choice of roast beef or chicken with all the trimmings at £5.99 per person and will be served at 1.00pm !!!!

On 17th January 2010 Northampton Saints are playing Perpignan in the Heineken Cup at Franklin’s Gardens. Kick off is at 3pm so we are NOT going to stay open all day. HOWEVER, we are offering a ‘Saints Special’ lunch of roast chicken or beef with all the trimmings for just £5.99 per person. There will be just one sitting at 1pm and places are limited so pre-booking is vital. So, DON’T DELAY – BOOK TODAY. Give us a call to book your place and we look forward to seeing you.

To add variety to our culinary offering we have decided to change the format of our ‘Curry Night’ – no longer exclusively a curry night but a different theme every month!

We are starting on Tuesday 19^th January 2010 with a Belgian Night. At 7.30pm we will be serving Moules Frites (an iconic Belgian dish known better perhaps as mussels and chips!)

As always you will need to pre-book by calling us on 01604 234212 or by coming to the pub in advance and booking over the bar! Watch out for the next theme on 4^th February.

Robin Chandler & Howling Tomcats I’m afraid will not be playing for us tonight due to the weather conditions.Unfortunately with such short notice we have been unable to find a replacement band,sorry for any inconvenience however the snow will not affect the quality of our beer so do still come and enjoy an evening at the Malt Shovel..

Special Christmas lunches! book now to avoid disappointment!

This Christmas we will be catering for lunchtime parties. We have a special menu that will be available during 1st-18th December. Pre-booking is essential and a £5 deposit per person (non-refundable) will be required not less than 7 days before your lunch date. Menus and booking forms are available over the bar or you can view and save a PDF version from our home page at www.maltshoveltavern.com

We will be celebrating Halloween on the evening of 31 October. The pub will be decorated and the staff will be dressed for the occasion! Why not dress up and come and join in the fun – we’d love to see you there.

 

Our next Curry Club gathering is on Tuesday 27th October and we have introduced some changes.

Please still feel free to bring your own curry (home made, takeaway, we don?t mind) and we will provide mango chutney and rice as before.

New this month, however, for those of you who would rather try the one we make, for just £5 you can have our chicken tikka masala. The evening starts at 7.30 and you will need to book a table in advance so that we know roughly how many to cater for. Hope to see you there! Roz
