    Continue reading »]]> On Monday 4th and Tuesday 5th June we will be joining in the celebrations to commemorate Her Majesty the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

    Here's what you can expect:

    COMMEMORATIVE FOOD

    • Monday and Tuesday – Special Commemorative food being served between 12 noon and 2pm
      • Traditional English Breakfast baguette
      • Coronation chicken baguette
      • Traditional chicken or roast beef lunch
      • Afternoon tea platter for 2 persons – cucumber sandwiches (OK, you can add ham or cheese if you wish), jam tarts, scones with clotted cream and jam and a pot of tea.

    KIRSTY'S JUBILEE PUNCH

    • From the evening of Friday 1st June until Tuesday 5th we will be serving "Kirsty's Jubilee Punch" (for those of you who have tried Kirsty's mixes in the past you know this is a treat not to be missed!)

    JUBILEE RAFFLE

    • Also on sale from Friday until Tuesday lunchtime (when the draw will be made) will be our Jubilee raffle tickets. Tickets will sell for £1 per strip of 5 with all proceeds going to "Help for Heroes"

    Add to this our usual offerings of fine beers and a vast array of other drinks and you're sure of a good time. Do come along and help us celebrate the Queen's 60 years as our sovereign.

    Continue reading »]]> We like our traditions here at the Malt Shovel Tavern and we're delighted to hear that the Northamptonshire branch of CAMRA has named us runner-up in the 2012 Pub of the Year awards. Hopefully, we'll make it back up to the top spot in future years, but in the meantime, thank you to CAMRA and congratulations to the Piper in Kettering, this year's overall winner.

    Continue reading »]]> As we go into 2012 we are delighted to bring you some more great bands with our Sunday afternoon specials at the Malt Shovel Tavern.

    On 29 January we welcome all-time favourites at the MST, Accrington Stanley who will be performing an Eagles tribute.

    26 February sees the return of the fantastic Ian Parker. If you have heard Ian perform before you will know that this is a gig not to miss. If you haven’t seen Ian play, make sure to come along – you won’t be disappointed!
