The Six Nations Rugby Competition 2017 kicks off on Saturday 4th February
Between 6pm and 9pm we will be offering three different curries and a vegetarian gie option available and all served with sundries for £6.00.
Reservations not necessary and service will be between 6-9pm
As a special treat for New Year’s Day 2016 we have decided to open from 12:00 noon until around 6:00pm. We will be showing the rugby match between Northampton Saints and the Exeter Chiefs. Although our regular lunchtime food menu will not be available we WILL be serving hot pasties. If you still have the energy after New Year’s Eve (or decided to have a quiet night indoors on 31st Decem) why not come along and join in the fun – we’d love to see you!

The Saints (Northampton Rugby Club) ‘Extra Time’ menu will be available 3 hours before the published kick-off time for every home game. Just the thing to set you up for the match especially on a cold winter’s day!
So whether you are a Saints fan, away team supporter or just somebody who wants to enjoy good food and drink in a great atmosphere why not come and join us on match days. We look forward to seeing you.

On this last weekend of September we are delighted to bring you our first ever Festival of Cider, Sausages and superb live music (courtesy of the Greg Coulson Band at 4pm on Sunday).
We will be featuring he following ciders:
- Farmhouse sweet 6.9%
- Farmhouse dry 6.9%
- Nobby’s medium 4.9%
- Elderflower 4.9%
- Blackcurrant 6.9%
- Strawberry 4.9%
- Lime 6.9%
- Cherry 6.9%
Specialist sausage sharing platters will be available on both days from 12noon-9pm. The sausage selection will include:
- Pork & leek
- Garlic, ginger & spring onion
- Pork & sundried tomato
- Pork madras
- Pork & chilli
This promises to be another fine event from the Malt Shovel Tavern so make sure you don’t miss it. See you there!
On 27th March 2014 we will be holding a charity race night, starting at 8pm, in support of “ a way with pain“, a charity providing support for people suffering with chronic pain. It is estimated that around 1 in 7 of the UK population live with this condition.
The fun starts at 8pm and horses are available to ‘buy’ now. Horses cost £3 each and you can ‘own’ as many horses in as many races as you like. Winning horses will bag their owners a £10 prize.
