We will be tucking up and tucking in at the end of October with our Brew at the Zoo festival. From Wednesday 30 October to Sunday 3 November we will be featuring 50 real ales and traditional ciders, and a special exotic menu evening, as well as comfort food favourites.
The watering hole opens on Wednesday October 30 with a tray of six thirds of festival ales for £7 (£6 for CAMRA members) and live music from the Zoe Schwarz Blue Commotion Band.
It’s feeding time at the Malt Shovel zoo on Thursday October 31. Enjoy an exotic meal and a pint of festival ale for £12.95. And when we say “exotic” we mean exotic! From ostrich pie to kangaroo sausages, buffalo meatballs, zebra or crocodile burgers… We start serving at lunch between 12 and 3pm, and the kitchen re-opens again from 6pm-9pm.
Friday November 1 is your chance to go ape for gin with our special gin promotion day. And to keep you in the mood, Similar Jones will be playing floor fillers from across the decades from 9pm.
Join us for the Rugby World Cup final on Saturday November 2. We will be open and roaring to go from 8am with breakfasts and beer deals. Our little oven of joy opens at 7.30pm. We will be serving comforting stone-baked pizzas on the terrace between 7.30pm and 10.30pm, with live music from Northampton’s hottest mod and ska band, Brighton Riot from 8.30pm.
To round-off the weekend on Sunday November 3, we will be serving our traditional Sunday roasts from 12 to 3pm. Accrington Stanley, our favourite Eagles and Beatles covers band kicks off at 2.30pm.
