Drinks at the Malt Shovel Tavern

At The Malt Shovel Tavern we're famous for the wide range of real ales on offer. But if ale isn't your tipple, don't worry - we've plenty of alternative drinks to keep you happy, from continental bottled beers to our stunning range of single malt whiskies. And if you find an ale you really like, why not try our Real Ale Takeaway? Ask at the bar and buy a couple of pints to enjoy at home.

Real Ales

With 13 hand pumps, you know you're probably going to find something you like! We keep a good selection of  regular draught beers and ciders, and our guest ales board changes pretty much every day. We aim to cater for all tastes - from low gravity "session" beers to mind-blowing strong ales! One thing they all have in common - they're beautifully kept and perfectly delivered!

Belgian Bottled Beers

Belgium is famous for its range of beers and at The Malt Shovel Tavern you'll find more than 20 waiting to be discovered. Our regular list includes Duvel, Chimay, Vedett, Trappist and Westmalle, and fruit beers from Bacchus, Timmermans and Delerium Tremens.
